About the Author:

Indu Swamy is a beloved award-winning cook.

Growing up in a multi-generational home with many aunts, cousins, and grandparents in Bangalore, Indu had her first exposure to cooking at a young age, but it was from her mother and later, her mother-in-law that Indu learned the intricacies of Karnataka-style cooking.

Passionate about serving others through food, over the next 50 years, Indu developed her individual take on traditional cooking, honing her skills through several years of successfully running a cooking class in Mumbai. Her culinary entries have received numerous awards, and in later years she served as a judge at several cooking competitions.

Indu is a multi-talented woman, adept at doll making, batik, and flower arrangement. She’s also an accomplished musician who studied as a violinist in Carnatic classical style and on the Sitar in Hindustani classical. Indu was active for several years through social work with various organizations in Mumbai and also served as President of the local Inner Wheel Club. Indu now lives in California with her family, happily serving up specials with love to her latest fans, her great grandchildren.
